Colchester were victorious away to Oldham in the England League Two on Saturday. Despite a 2-0 lead by the second half the match was far from over, and the second half saw Oldham mounting a worthy challenge to Colchester’s lead but Colchester were able to hang on till the end and win the match 2-1.

Colchester scored the first goal when Freddie Sears scored in the 9th minute, making it 1-0.

The team increased the lead to 0-2 early in the match when Noah Chilvers made his mark as he scored in the 12th minute.

It took until the 73rd minute before Dylan Bahamboula reduced the score Oldham. But Oldham ran out of steam. The 1-2 goal was the last goal of the game.

Oldham now have four straight defeats.

Oldham have had a sluggish start to the season and are without points from their first four games. Colchester are on five points.

The last match between the teams ended in a 5-2 home win for Oldham in April 2021.
