Nicky Cadden struck a hat-trick as Forest Green beat Crawley Town 6-3 (2-2) at home in the England League Two. Jamille Matt, Mathew Stevens and Jake Young scored the remaining goals for the home side, while Crawley Town’s goals came through Hessenthaler and Appiah.

The hosts Forest Green started best and were already 1-0 up early in the game. After only one minute Nicky Cadden netted.

Crawley Town equalised to 1-1 early in the match when Jake Hessenthaler made his mark as he scored in the 14th minute.

Forest Green took the lead again, when Mathew Stevens scored, in the 24th minute.

Crawley Town equalised to make it 2-2 after half an hour’s play as Jake Hessenthaler scored yet again. This time he scored.

Straight after the break, Jamille Matt made his mark and gave Forest Green the lead again.

In the 67th minute, Nicky Cadden found the net, to increase the lead for Forest Green.

Nicky Cadden also scored in the 69th minute as he scored, and then completed a hatrick.

Jake Young increased Forest Green’s lead, in the 78th minute.

The goal that reduced the score to 6-3 came right at the end of the game, when Kwesi Appiah scored a goal for Crawley Town. But Crawley Town ran out of steam. The 6-3 goal was the last goal of the game.

Forest Green have now won four games in a row.

Forest Green have 12 points after four games, while Crawley Town have taken three points from three games.

The last outing between the teams ended in a 0-0 draw, with Crawley Town at home in April 2021.
