Exeter defeated the hometown Bristol Rovers 1-4 (0-4) on Saturday in England League Two action.

The hosting team Exeter started the match at pace and took the lead straight away already from the kickoff. After only 3 minutes Matt Jay scored.

The team increased the lead to 2-0 early in the match when Matt Jay made his mark as he scored yet again. This time he scored in the 15th minute.

Exeter increased their lead to 3-0, when Timothee Dieng netted, in the 22nd minute.

The team increased the lead again, making it 4-0, just two minutes later as Harry Kite found the net.

In the 70th minute, Sam Finley scored, to reduce the score for Bristol Rovers. Bristol Rovers were unable to score any more goals. The 4-1 goal was the last goal of the game.

Bristol Rovers have had a sluggish start to the season and have only three points from their first four games. Exeter claimed their first win.

The last outing between the teams ended in a 3-1 home win for Bristol Rovers in April 2016.
