Cesc Fabrgas likely to miss Champions League match against FC Porto
Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas is in doubt to help his team in this Tuesday’s match-up when Arsenal will square off against FC Porto. Fabrgas was injured over the week-end in Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Burnley as he suffered from a hamstring injury and with Fabregas having missed training today, he is likely to be out of the line-up tomorrow.
With Arsenal being down 2-1 after the 1st leg, having Fabregas on the pitch for Arsenal as part of their 2nd-leg match-up is crucial for Wenger who is quoted to say during the weekend that he is ready to take the gamble. However, if Fabregas will not be able to make the line-up, Arsenal still has the choice of choosing, Abou Diaby, Denilson and Alexandre Song to replace Fabregas.
Wenger went on to state the following :
“I’m ready to take the gamble, But if there is more than a 50 per cent chance of his hamstring going I will not take it. You look at the numbers of Fabregas this season and it is amazing – 14 goals, 15 assists. He’s a fantastic player, with fantastic attitude and commitment. And what people forget an unbelievable work-rate too.”
