Well it seems that Carlo Ancelotti (Chelsea’s manager) will not be looking to be friends with Jose Mourinho (Real Madrid coach) anytime soon.

Although both sides do show respect to one another, Ancelotti admits that both of them really never liked each other very much. In a recent statement made by Ancelotti to La Repubblica, Ancelotti went on to say the following :

“Before the Champions League match between Inter and Chelsea we called a truce. We met in the San Siro corridors and we made an agreement. No more polemics or dramas. We never really liked each other, but since I have been in England my views have changed. When I won the Premier League he sent me a text, and I sent him one when he won Serie A. I don’t think we can ever be friends, but there is a sincere reciprocal respect between us.”

Having scored a hat-trick for the England National team after having scored twice for his club in a Champions League play-off game, Jermain Defoe is now on the radar for Serie A club Juventus who have been in the market for a striker. Whether of not Tottenham is interested in selling Defoe is yet to be known but one thing is for sure, with the right amount money, anything can happen.

According to reports from the Itasportpress, Juventus are said to be on the hunt to sign Jermain Defoe from Premier League club Tottenham. With the way Defoe has been performing for both Tottenham and the England National team, it’s no wonder why the 27-year old has been picking up some major interest.

The Italian club has been looking to rebuild their squad and adding a striker like Defoe can see Juventus once again be a major threat in the Serie A club. Although the English mans contract does not finish until 2014, the right amount of money may see Defoe make his way to the Italian side.

Think Tottenham would be interested in selling Defoe as the January transfer comes closer ? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below.

After deciding to stay with Premier League club Arsenal despite the interest from Barcelona, Fabregas hints that he was really forced to stay with the English club. It seems that the truth will slowly start to come out as Barcelona fans (and players) await to see what really happened with the deal.

When Cesc Fabregas said he decided to stay at Arsenal, it seemed like there was much more to the story. Yes he was still in contract with the Gunners but it was after talks with Arsene Wenger when the story became different.

After Barcelona had made their interest known in signing Fabregas, Arsenal were the ones who kept denying the offers. They put a price-tag on Fabregas that was just to crazy for anyone to sign, nevertheless Barcelona who are already a packed squad as it is. But the Catalan club kept pushing and it had an effect on Fabregas as he began to make it known that he would love to return to his youth club.

However, the story slowly became different.

With Fabregas pretty much admitting that he would love to return to Spain and play for Barcelona, he seemed to have a change of heart and went on to say that he decided to stay with Arsenal. After having talks with Arsene Wenger (which Fabregas will not comment on), Cesc went on to give a whole speech about how Arsenal helped mold him into the man he is today and how Wenger is like a father figure to him. It became obvious that Barcelona will miss out on the chance of signing Fabregas but for some of Fabregas’s friends at Barcelona, they still feel that he will make his way to Camp Nou next season if they aren’t able to acquire him this time around.

“If the signing has not happened this year, it will happen next.” said Xavi who was hoping that Cesc would make the switch.

Now with the transfer dead-line coming to an end last week and Fabregas still in Arsenal, the Spaniard has pretty much stated that the Gunners forced him to stay with the club. In a recent statement made by Fabregas, you can instantly notice that he seems upset with not being able to play for Barcelona.

“Barcelona did all they could to sign me but Arsenal told me I had to stay, that there was no way they were going to let me go. In the end I had to stay – but the content of my conversation with Arsene Wenger will remain private.”

Surprised to hear Fabregas speak a little more on the truth now that dead-line has come to an end ? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below and be sure to follow me on Twitter @Herb_Maldonado

Fernando Torres is one player who needs to shine for Liverpool in order for the club to pull some positive results. After having been doomed with injuries, Liverpool has struggled but things should start to turn around. Having scored 2 goals for Spain, Torres went on to say the following.

Fernando Torres was once a very dominate player for Liverpool but injuries has haunted the Spanish star and the Liverpool fans had to settle for a less fitted Torres.

However, it looks like things will start turning around for Torres after he was able to net 2 goals for Spain when they took on Liechtenstein earlier in the week. With Torres having stated that he is now almost at ‘Full Fitness’, it should make the LFC fans happy again that they will soon start to see Torres back at his best.

On Liverpool’s official site, Fernando Torres went on to say the following :

“The recuperation is perfect and we have waited our time. I am still not 100 per cent, but the people will soon see the best Torres. Each time I am recuperating sensations and I hope to obtain success with Liverpool this season.”

Dani Alves has 2 more years left on his contract with the Spanish giants, Barcelona, and with no talks of a contract extension it seems that Manchester City are said to be trying to come swoop the player. However, Alves says he is not worried about his future and he will be fine regardless if Barca decides to give him extension or not.

There has been much speculation going around about whether or not Dani Alves will be offered a new contract extension at Camp Nou but Alves is confident that he will be with the Spanish giants for years to come. With just 2 years remaining on Alves’s contract, Barcelona have yet not to offer the Brazilian defender a extension on his contract.

However, with reports from Spain stating that Premier League club -Manchester City- are looking to sign the 27-year, it will be interesting to see if Barcelona will now decide to offer Alves a extension or not. But regardless of the situation at hand, Dani Alves is still fine which whatever decision the club decides to do.

Dani Alves went on to say the following :

“I am not worried about it at all. I have a contract and am settled so if they Barca propose something then fantastic, but if not then that is fine.”

Alves is one player who has said he is very patient and understands that sometimes the club has to think about their next move. He also went on to say some words about his former teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic who was just with the club 1-year saying the the Swedish striker ‘lacked patience’. Now with AC Milan, Ibrahimovic has blamed Pep Guardiola saying it’s his fault as to why he left Camp Nou but Alves feels differently.

“Perhaps Ibra lacked patience. Maybe he didn’t fit in our team and the way we play and didn’t wait long enough to adapt.” Alves went on to say about his former teammate.

Think giving Alves a extension on his contract will be the right thing to do ? Would you rather him stay with the club or depart after his contract expires ? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below.

Will the return of the Almighty Beck's be enough for the L.A. Galaxy to start and turn things around ? See what start player Landon Donovan and head-coach Bruce Arena have to say.

David Beckham is inching his way closer to a return to the Galaxy line-up after sustaining a Achilies Tendon injury while playing with AC Milan back in March. Having shattered his hopes in playing for England in the World Cup, Beckham is anxious to make a return to the field for the Galaxy where he hopes to get things rolling again for the struggling club. Although the Galaxy have enjoyed a great start to the MLS season and still currently lead the league in points, the Galaxy have found themselves in a bit of a down-ward spiral.

With their record in the past 6 games being 2-3-1 in league action and having been embarrassed by the Puerto Rico Islanders in the CONCACAF Champions League where they saw a early exit, it really shouldn’t be a surprise that Landon Donovan is happy with the return of Beckham.

“I think David will help a lot. We need some fresh energy. If you start well, there’s a tendency towards complacency and tendency to back off and you’ve got to find that spark again. Whether that happens on the field or off the field, whether it’s one person making a special play or the whole team figures it out, it doesn’t really matter, but we need to figure it out.”

Is what Donovan went on to say to Goal.com.

As for head-coach Bruce Arena, the former U.S. Men’s National team coach feels that the return of Beckham should not turn out to be an immediate impact and it will take time in order for things to get back into form.

Bruce Arena went on to say the following :

“We’re different when David plays, but we have played this season without David Beckham. When he does get back on the field, he’s going to need time getting comfortable again and getting match fit. Our expectations on David’s return can’t be that great, because it’s going to take him some time to get into the right kind of form.”

Although there is no question that the LA Galaxy will be playing much better once Beckham returns to the field, Bruce Arena is dead on in the fact that it will take time again for Beckham to adjust. Having been out of action since March, and with the English player having been out of action since March, Beckham has to once again find form. The good thing for the Galaxy is that they will have plenty of time to adjust before the Play-offs begin, but if they hope to finish first in the league then they will need to start turning things around sooner than later.

Think the Galaxy will be able to turn things around with Beckham on the field ? Will Buddle go on another frenzy of goals with the return of Beckham ? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below.

After England’s horrendous World Cup showing, it’s no secret that Capello could use at least a little bit of help on re-building his squad and help has been offered.

Arsene Wenger, Roy Hodgson and even Sir Alex Ferguson were some of the managers that were said to be interested in helping Capello re-build his squad, stated Guardian.co.uk, as they hope to have a chance to turn things around for the English Nat’s.

Confirmed by the Chief Executive of the League Managers Association, Richard Bevan, went on to say the following :

“We want to work closely with England. There were mistakes made in the World Cup but the feedback I’ve had from managers is ‘how do we help the England manager?’ We can help Fabio by ensuring he has access to a think tank.”

Brian McBride will be announcing his retirement today as the 38-year old decided it’s time for him to hang-up the cleats. A U.S. Men’s National team legend and Major League Soccer’s number 1 draft pick, McBride has enjoyed a long career as a Professional Soccer player as he played in Germany and the Primer League as well. EPL club Fulham were sad to see McBride leave the Craven Cottage as he decided to make a return to the MLS to play with the Chicago Fire, and now the U.S. fans will be sad to see him go.

There is no question that many of the U.S. fans will miss Brian McBride and all he has done for the country, here is a video tribute of one of the most beloved players in the U.S.

David Beckham wasn't expected to make a return until October but the former England captain says he is gunning to be back on the field by September 11. A helping hand indeed Beckham will be if he can find some playing time against the Columbus Crew.

Although the Los Angeles Galaxy are still sitting in first place in the MLS standings, I’m sure they wouldn’t mind having David Beckham back in action. Doctors have originally said that Beckham is most likely to be out until to October 1st but Beckham went on to say earlier today that he maybe ready to take the field by September 11th.

With the Crew and the Galaxy in a tight race for the number 1 spot in the MLS, Beckham hopes he can take the field for LA on the 11th when both teams collide at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.

“The doctors’ original date was October 1st, but I always kind of said I want to be ready before then. I’ll keep my fingers crossed and hopefully will play in part of the game here against Columbus. I’ll be on the bench, and hopefully I’ll get on the field for 15-20 minutes. That’s what I’m looking at.”

Even though the Galaxy may have gotten this far without the services of Beckham, with the current slump the club is in, I’m sure they wouldn’t mind his services at this down-time.

Think the Galaxy will be much better with the return of Beckham ? Is Beckham what the Galaxy missing at this point ? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below.
